Juries.

Today was just great. I did my sight singing test, practiced piano, worked on my project, then it was time to go perform my jury. That's where I play piano for about ten minutes in front of three judges who determine whether I move on or pass or whatever. When that was over, I worked on my project some more. Oh, I was in the Holland with Melinda in this one study room. And I kept leaving and going back and so did she and we were basically there all day. So I went to Panda Express and got us some food, then I went back to the Eccles to accompany Celeste for her jury. Then I picked up some energy drinks for Melinda and I and went back. Then she left to go take a test. Then I left and went to band practice.

Band practice was interesting cause we spent most of the time talking about future plans and how we're going to fund stuff. Which reminded me that I need to freaking make a kick starter video like pronto. Geeze, what was I thinking? I could've been raising money BEFORE summer so I could be doing stuff NOW. But it's okay. We'll see if I can even each any sort of goal on there. All or nothing.

So I went back to the Holland and we were there til midnight... I think.

Boiling blood.

I woke up and made it to my Spanish final on time, woohoo. I also got a 90%, double woohoo!

I was on my way home when my mom called and asked me to stop and buy some cherry Poptarts. Haha. So I did that and stuff.

Then went home and took another long nap.

Then Melinda and I went on got Dr. Pepper with coconut from Fabulous Freddy's, then made food at home instead of going out to eat, you should be so proud.

Now I'm at work.

And after this I'm hanging out with Chad :)

Okay so I'm so fed up right now that my blood is boiling.

I'm IMing a friend at work who I've been friends with for years. We've flirted on and off, like normal people do, but he's never made a move to take me out, and I've never given him any reason to think I'm interested in him. In fact, I've told him multiple times that I'm not. And we never even hang out. But today in our IMs he said we should go on a date, and I tried to politely tell him that I only like him as a friend and I don't want to go on a date with him.

OH MY GOSH HEAVEN FORBID A WOMAN BE HONEST INSTEAD OF LYING AND LEADING YOU ON.

He said back: "this is why guys arent nice. and shouldnt try to be"

Um.... EXCUSE ME? Gosh. I think boys really want us to pretend to like them and go out with them and waste their time and money so that we can break up with them later. Or they think that because they're nice, it's our obligation to fall in love with them.

So I gave him a piece of my mind and told him how ridiculous he was being, that I'm doing him a favor by being honest, etc. And he said back:

"Maybe you are the problem."

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I'm a little bit crazy. BOYS.

Get out.

Guess what?! Melinda and I made it to our church on time, isn't that great?!
Aterward, though, I took the longest nap ever.
Then went to my parent's house for a delicious dinner and dessert.

Then Melinda and I went to the school and studied until it closed, then continued our studies at my parent's house until 1:00 a.m. Whew.

Saturday, April 27, 2013

If I had never met you.

Today I slept in, when to my parent's house to eat scones, ended up staying a couple hours to go through a bunch of old stuff that I still had in a closet there, then went home and took another nap. Oh and my dad took my car to get cleaned. I'm really happy about that... it needed it bad.

If you had never left me

We'd be married right now, probably. We probably would've made music together, figured out life together, who knows.

You never would've gotten engaged to someone else. You wouldn't have broken off that engagement.

You wouldn't have moved in with your friends.

You wouldn't be dating another girl now.

I would've never met Chase. I would've never started writing my own music and recording. I would've never met the dozens if not hundreds of people I've met in the past year and a half. I would've never moved in with Katlyn and Carissa and Melinda. I wouldn't have experienced so many things.

If we had never met, I have no idea what my life would be right now.

Chad.

I was asked last minute to accompany some singers in a funeral today, so I went to that. It was weird sitting there listening to people talk about this wonderful lady I never knew.

I took the longest nap ever and it was wonderful.

I went to Twenty-Five Main at 7:00 to support Luke and listen to him play and sing. Melinda came with me and did homework while we sat there. Jen was there and sat by us too. It was pretty fun.

Then we went home.

Chad picked me up on his motorcycle, and we went to Fiesta Fun to play mini golf. He's a profession golfer but that's different than mini golf for sure. I was winning for more than half of the thing, but toward the end he totally destroyed me. Oh well, it was really really fun.

He brought me back to my house, and we sat in my room and talked with my roommates and Nate. Then he left.

Radio Interview!

It was so awesome not having to wake up for 8:00 a.m. Spanish class today.

I took my sweet time getting out of bed and getting ready and then I went and said hi to Parker on my way to the school.

THEN it was time to go to the college radio station for my interview! I was excited but also nervous. It's funny how nervous you can get even when you're in a room with only two other people, just cause you know people are listening!

I'm listening back to the recording of my interview and songs, and I'm super embarrassed. I hate listening to myself talk. Haha oh my gosh.

Then Melinda and I got sushi WOO!

And now I'm at work.

And after that is our choir concert, which I am extremely excited for. I hope we perform our best, because the songs are always so amazing that we get to sing. Eeeeee. I wish more people came.

Dis was so fun!!

Piano Major Recital.

Last day of classes woooohoo! Last piano lesson until Fall woooohooooo!

I got work off so I could perform in the piano recital. I was hoping that I would mess up rather than forget something in the middle of my piece. And that's what happened! I had small mistakes, but I didn't have to stop because of memory problems. It went pretty well I thought :) My dad came and listened to me. And afterward, we went and got blizzards from Dairy Queen together. Love my daddy!

Then I went hot tubbing with my friend Nick and some people. It was my first time since before my foot surgery back in November!

I also visited my nephews today :) Aw Connor.

Half of the other piano majors and I!

Two new dresses, please.

Today was my last day accompanying for the semester. Ahhh. Although Celeste did mention that she's taking summer vocal lessons, and I guess assumed I would just be willing. But I'm not. I really need a break from responsibility in that area for a while! One of the non-majors who takes lessons paid me today for the whole semester, so I took dat money and I went to Urban Renewal. And I bought two new dresses. Yay!

Tonight was another band practice with Pangea. We worked on two of the songs I learned last week. They're both really cool, but my favorite so far is the one that Thom wrote, called "Dear Patience." Isaac, the main singer, hasn't been at practice, so Thom sings it and I harmonize with him. It's such a good song!

Later I went over to Sam Friend's house, and he showed me his set up, and a bunch of songs he's made. He's made hip hop songs that guys from Las Vegas have used for their rap albums. Real gangsters yo. Anyway, he has one made that doesn't have any vocals yet, so I'm going to write some lyrics and sing for it.  It's bumpin.

One of the dresses I tried on.. and didn't buy haha.

I wrote a song for you, dammit.

Well, I got dumped today.

Right after I cooked and fed him dinner. Lovely.

Anyway, I went to a senior voice recital with Melinda at the college. I think I'm done with concert attendance... I hope.

And I started watching I, Robot with Melinda and Carissa. I fell asleep and woke up during a different movie... so I went to bed.

Who wants to take me to these places?

Glass Heart Hymn.

We woke up and it was a beautiful morning in Pine Valley. We didn't stay long though, we headed home around 10:00.

I went to Corinne Cox's Junior piano recital today. She did a great job. I'm so jealous, I hope I am that good by the time I'm nearing the end of my junior year as a music major.

After work I'll be watching the UFC with Christopher.

This song. Is great.

Pine Valley Sleepover!

I looked forward to today alll week long. I didn't have to worry about playing in my performance class because I already played four times this semester, and we're only required to play three times. After class I went to the gym and it was great. Then I got ready and at four-ish I picked up sushi and took it to Chris on his work break and we ate together :) Mmmmm sushi.

Then I got to take a nap, write a new song, and get ready to go to Pine Valley! Carissa and I met Chris at work when he got off and we all drove up together. It was fun. My dad helped me make tin foil dinners, so we cooked and ate those. I brought my guitar, so we were playing music together with another guitar there, and also with a couple other people. We finished Benjamin Button. It was a good time.

USA.

There is something so amazing about how tragedy results in so much love and unity. I get so touched watching people come together and help each other. I wish we could feel similar to this way all the time, because really, underneath all our differences, we are so much alike. We are all brothers and sisters. In President Obama's address after the Boston bombing, he mentioned that "there are no Republicans or Democrats; we are Americans united in concern for our fellow citizens." I thought that was awesome.

We are all Americans. But on an larger scale, every person on this world is a human being. We are all human beings, none less important than another, and it's too bad we can't always treat each other as such in all parts of life. I am not perfect of course, I sometimes talk poorly of people or don't treat them as well as I should. But it's just something to think about.

This video gave me the chills. And I think it would be amazing if everyone sang the national anthem like this every time it was sung.

I'm also hurt for the people affected by the factory explosion in Waco, Texas. I just can't imagine what it'd be like if these kinds of things happened here in Utah.

As for me and today, well of course I just had an average day. School and piano lesson and stuff. I went over to Lauren James Bridal to get fitted for a photo shoot on Tuesday that my sister is doing with some other vendors. Chris is going to be a model too. I'm excited! I'm almost too fat for it but whatever :)

After work I'm going to another Pangea practice.

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

Water bottle.

My piano teacher moved my lesson, so I didn't have it today, which was nice. I got some homework done and stuff.

I didn't really do anything today other than go to my classes and come home and take a nap and eat. And now I'm at work.

After work I'm going to the gym with Melinda, then finishing an assignment, then after than hanging out with Chris for a bit!

I'm so sore from Monday.

SO much to do before the end of the semester, but SO excited for SUMMER!!!!!!!!

Oh hey, I have a tumblr. I don't really do much with it at all but it's there.

Voice Recital.

I love it when I'm done with school on Tuesdays. It's just too much!
After school I went over to our new rental place and we finalized our approval for our application, so now all we have to do is sign the lease and the apartment is ours! Woo!

Tonight was the voice recital, so I had to go and accompany Celeste in her solo and also in her duet with Emily. It was fun. Chris came to listen for his music class, so I got to see him and his mom.

When that was over, I went to Tyson's house for the Pangea band practice. They taught me the vocals for three of their songs. I'm excited! I'm singing in a band, yay!

On my way home, I stopped at Chris's to say hi, and we went for a short walk.

Bombs.

Yesterday, Chris asked me to go to in Institute class with him sometime this week, so we went today at 9 to a random class. It was pretty good.

Then I went to practice piano and try to write a song but I couldn't focus because I was so hungry. Finally, it was time to meet up with my family for lunch at Pasta Factory. I feel like I'm always hungry... anyway. It was super good. And the boys were there, I love them so so much. Oh, I saw Mic Barker today too, walking on the street, so I stopped and talked to him on the way there. What a cute kid.

Oh and then I went to choir of course.

Right when I got to work, Melinda IMed me, and that's how I found out about the bombings at the Boston Marathon and the JFK library. Only a few minutes after that, I started getting lots of calls from people in Boston talking about it, telling their families they were okay, etc. So I watched the videos online and read about it and it breaks my heart. Honestly, every time something like this happens, it makes me wonder why I'm not just crying all the time because of all the tragedy and heartbreak going on in the world at any given moment.

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

First of all, Saturday night was super fun. I got off work and went to Chris's, then we drove over to Chick-Fil-A together to eat. I was soo hungry and it was soo good. After that, we went to Town Square to walk around and enjoy the night. Like Friday night, it was pretty windy, but I loved it. And I usually hate the wind more than any other weather! It felt nice.
At about 10, we went back to Chris's house to watch the UFC. It was fun, but sometime after 11 I fell asleep. Chris woke me up at 11:45 saying we had to hurry and go to the fountain before midnight! So, we drove over there and there were tons of people gathered around, and a big countdown projected on a screen. So we took off our shoes, rolled up our pants, and stepped into the ice cold water 20 seconds before midnight, and as soon as they counted to zero, we kissed! Everyone kissed. It was awesome. I'm glad I finally did that, and with someone I actually care about.
We left then, and were driving around when we noticed the big "D" on the mountain, normally white, but red for D week, was flickering reddish orange. So we went to check it out. We climbed up there, along with 8 ish other random people, and found that there was actually fire up there. It was awesome! We sat in the middle of the D and talked forever. And then Chris took me back to my car, and I went home.

Well, Sunday was a good day, too. I got to sleep in because I went to my family's ward at 11, since it was my mom's birthday. After church, I went to their house and we got ready to start making food. We needed some stuff, so Des, Tash, and I went to Smith's, where I had Chris meet us so he could come over and have lunch/dinner/whatever with us. We had hamburgers and hotdogs. We were all sitting at the dinner table when my mom accidentally tipped over my Dr. Pepper (with ice in it) and it spilled all over Chris's lap. Hahahahaha poor guy. It was super funny. Good thing he laughed about it!

Chris and I left on a drive so I could show him the fake-looking yellow house that I found once. Then we went back to my place and took a nap and talked to my roommates and stuff.

Chris went home, and I went back to my parent's house to have cake and play games. My family is so freaking funny. I had a lot of fun hanging out with them yesterday and last night.

Fire.
A collage I put together for Instagram for my mom's birthday :)

My sisters and I surprised my mom with a 16 x 20 photo of us that we sneakily took Saturday before she got home from work! :) I have such beautiful sisters.

True Rebel.

I went to lunch today with my friend Adam from Heber. We ate at In n Out, then I got a raspberry limeade from Sonic, which I later left on top of my car. Oops.

I cleaned out my car a little today, but I didn't have a lot of time so it's still disgusting. I want a new car so bad.. but there are other things I want more.

And I've been at work.

And as soon as I get off, I'm going to Chris's, then we're going out to eat, and then doing who knows what. But at midnight (I think?) we're going to go to the fountain at the school! Woo!!

Roadkill Ghost Choir.

Fantastic Friday!

I met Celeste and Emily at the school to practice their duet that I'm accompanying them for. Then we had school and stuff. And after school, I got my new rental application stuff taken care of. Then I went back to the school to accompany Celeste and Emily in their vocal lab. Then I went to the school to do homework.

Then I went to my parent's house to babysit Connor and Parker. What little angels. I had so much fun playing with them and making them laugh. For the last 20 minutes or so, Chris came over and played with them too.

Then Chris and I went over to the college to check out the barbecue that Melinda told me about. There was no one around, so we didn't have to wait in line for our free hamburgers and hotdogs. Which were delicious, by the way. Then people started to show up, and we walked around and talked with friends. They had a free photo booth, so we got some pics, and also free popcorn and snow cones. I love free stuff! It was such a nice day.

Our plan was to go to the show at Jazzy's, so after the barbecue we went over to see when it was starting. It wasn't starting yet so we drove over to the golf course and walked around. I can't believe I had never been over there before, yet I drive past it every single day. It was beautiful. We laid on a hill and looked at the sky and talked.

We went back to Jazzy's and watched Kaitlyn Sevy open, who plays really pretty music. Then Whiskey Tooth went on. They play good music but Chris and I both noticed that every single song was the same.
But the last band, Roadkill Ghost Choir, was amazing! They've been touring with Band of Horses, and are still going to. There weren't a lot of people at the show but it was way good. I bought a t-shirt! It's sweet!

There are four pictures but this one is my favorite.

Website.

Oh man... I slept in today. It was glorious. But I missed two classes... and then I showed up for my third class and the teacher was sick, so one of the students was teaching it. What the?! Okay. And I realized I left my stupid purse at home so I drove all the way back to get it so that I could buy a drink and have my purse with me at work.

Before choir, I walked to the student center and made a PB&J. They had a table set up outside so anyone could come make a sandwich. And they were playing music really loud across the campus, so I made them play two of my songs. Hah.

Then I went back to the Eccles, said hi to Chris, and went to choir.

And now I'm at work. Tonight I'll be going to some little get together at Devon's house hosted by he and Beau. Then I'm going to Jazzy's to listen to Pangea play. Woo.

Oh, and Chase is in the process of building a website for me. Should be cool.

Take this test and tell me what your result is. Mine was 85%.

Loser.

Everything went well at school today. I went to the Holland after my piano lesson just to do stuff before class, and happened to pull up the same time as Chris. We walked inside together and talked and stuff. That was fun.

I went to work but I got an early out because I didn't feel well. So I went home and rested a bit before I headed over to Jazzy's.

When I got there, there were tons of people there for the first performer. He did a really good job. I was next, and by the time I went on, all my friends were there in front to support me. Melinda, Tasha, McKayle, Celeste, Jen, Thom, Eric, Beau, Alec, Chris, Dallas, Blair, Ty, Erin, etc... It was way fun. I had a good time performing.

However, out of the four performers, I got fourth place.

Oh well, can't let the opinions of two old guys get me down.

Chris stuck around with me the whole time til the end of the competition, then came over to my house and we talked all night.

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

Holland building.

I'm so sick of accompanying. There, I said it again.

But I love Tuesdays as soon as school is over because I can do whatever I want. Today I went to Troy's photography studio to see if I can get him to edit and give me more pictures from my album cover photo shoot. I figure if there were hundreds of pictures of me, why only have five and let the rest go to waste? I picked out about ten more and he said he would edit them. So I hope he does.

Then I went with Melinda to look at the place we really really want to move into. We're just having issues finding a for sure new roommate. Ugh, people.

After that, Melinda and I went to the Holland and spent hours in this cool little glass room over looking the library, studying and talking about stuffs. We went to Panda Express later to get food.

Then I went back to the school and practiced piano for a while, and Chris told me to come say hi on my way home, so I stopped at his house for about 5-10 minutes.

Monday, April 8, 2013

Benjamin Button.

I like getting off work at seven a couple days a week now. It's nice. I got to do my laundry and stuff.

And then later, Chris came over and we watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button together.

Sunday, April 7, 2013

General Conference.

I woke up right before Conference was supposed to start and drove to my parent's house to watch it there. I slept in between the sessions and then watched the next one too.

After, I went home to get ready and then I went to Jason's house to return his stool that he let me borrow for my performance. While I was there, we were in his music room where he has all his equipment set up. He let me mess around on his keyboard with all of his different programs. It was so awesome!

Then I went to my parent's house for dinner and desert. We had lasagna and then berry crisp. Mmmm. It was da best.

I went home and watched a movie with Melinda.

Oh Connor.
Parker loves the Prophet :)
Jason's set up.

NATS.

I woke up early on a Saturday morning so that I could get over to the school and warm up for Celeste. She performed in NATS today, which I think stands for National Association of Teachers of Singing.. or something, haha. She sang in the classical category as well as the musical theater. So I had six songs prepared to accompany her with, and they usually only have you sing two in each one but we ended up doing all six. Good thing I practiced them all.

I went to Golden Corral with my friend Jordan. Yum.

And I am about to get off work and go home and clean my room... and get all of the crap out of my car from yesterday. So much stuff!

Cotton Candy!!!

Twenty-Five Main.

I performed my Beethoven Sonata in my class. I had someone video it, I'll have to post it later (if it's any good).

Colter invited me to Ocean Buffet for lunch with his group of friends I'd gone with before, so I went and ate some yummy sushi!

I spent the rest of the day getting ready for Twenty-Five Main. Borrowed a stool from Jason, a music stand from Jacob, a keyboard and PA system from Luke. What great friends I have!

Then, I went to Matt and Jessica's house at 5:30 so I could run through my set list with Matt. He offered to be my drummer again. So, in less than an hour, I told him what kind of drums I wanted or didn't want for all 25 of my songs. That guy is amazing, I tell you. He figured out all those songs in less than an hour, and played them with me perfectly! It was really awesome to have him there. I asked him to be my drummer and he was super stoked :)

I had a really great time playing there. It was fun having good friends come, and also some people I didn't know too well. My family came, including one of my aunts and uncles. And of course there were people there I didn't know at all, just out to eat on a Friday night. But I feel like it was a good experience for me as a performer. It's not easy to play for an hour and a half straight!

Luke, me, Matt my drummer, and Melinda. She played the piano parts for three of my songs and it was awesome!
Gorgeous Jessica (Matt's wife and a fellow piano major) and McKayle!

Zef wanted a picture with me :)
Beautiful Jen and Celeste!
Poor Matt had to just sit there during a few songs that didn't have drums... haha.

Favorite little 3-year-old.

It was nice having my piano lesson today instead of yesterday, giving me an extra day to prepare for it. My piano teacher's son left for his mission today so I rescheduled for today. And it went well! I'm going to play my Sonata in class tomorrow and I'm excited.

I met my parents, Tasha, and Connor for lunch at Taco Time. I lo

I also went to 25 Main so I could talk to someone about my performance tomorrow. I'm so so nervous. Even though I'm just going to be background music while people eat. Eek.

Tonight I'm going over to Luke's warehouse to practice with his keyboard since I'm using it tomorrow. And hopefully I get everything figured out.

Don't be mad when I screenshot snap chats!
Little Connor. Growing up so fast.
I just wanted to show you the weird statue in the conference room of the music building.

Pop filter.

I was so tired last night that I didn't put a lot of effort into reading for Spanish, so I was nervous for the quiz this morning. But then I got to class and the teacher decided to just give us all credit! Woo best day!

I spent a lot of time today organizing all my music and getting ready for Friday. Still nervous!!

I also took time to visit my fam and take a nap and play guitar. And I finally bought a pop filter, so I can FINALLY get to recording stuff.

I did one dumb thing today. It's a pretty big rule at my work that you NEVER leave your station without logging out of the client, which is the program we use to caption calls. Well, today, I went on my break and accidentally minimized it but didn't log out of anything. So now I'm going to get a write up. Great. No room for human error at this job!

It was a beautiful day today. I got a free popsicle!
The poster that's actually right.

So many dumb things.

I think I need two hands to count the number of stupid things I did today.

Let's see... well I went back to sleep after my alarm so I had ten minutes to get ready and I looked like crap all day.
I was telling a funny story to someone in the hallway in the music building that I had just heard, and I didn't realize the main subject of the story was walking by as I was making fun. (Apparently my friends had been sitting in the hallway for quite some time when a boy and girl came out of the bathroom together, but were not seen going in.)
I had Chase make an event poster, and accidentally told him "25 S" instead of "25 N" and only realized this after already posting it to Facebook.
I re-posted said event poster and then realized I hadn't included the date of the event so I had to delete and post it a third time.
I was sending payment to Chase and I sent it to the wrong email address via PayPal.
I drove all the way to Walmart with Melinda and Carissa before I realized I didn't have my purse.

I swear there was more than that, but that's pretty bad.

Oh well. Melinda went through the drive thru of Del Taco on Monday and she excitedly asked "Is it Taco Tuesday?!" because she really thought it was Tuesday. The person laughed and told her it was Monday and probably thought she was doing it for April fool's but she was completely serious. And so then today she went through the drive thru again at noon and said, "It's Taco Tuesday, right?!" and they said, no, not until three. Hahahahaha.

Tonight Melinda and I drove around after Walmart and looked for houses. We really need to move...

Boring April Fool's.

Every year I tell myself I'll come up with some awesome prank or pranks for April Fool's Day. But every year I end up not getting around to planning anything. And I almost never have anyone prank me in any big way. So, this year it was just another day like usual. Oh well, maybe next year.

But it was a good day because I actually finished and turned in an assignment that was due today, and two overdue assignments. Yay!

And Desi passed her practical hair and cosmetology exam today. So we celebrated as a family by going to Cafe Rio for lunch. Mmmm.

Now I work 2-7 on Mondays instead of 4-9 which is going to be nice because I can start going to FHE or to the gym earlier or practicing more. Or you know, being ready for bed earlier. But tonight Melinda and I are going to watch Katlyn's performance in God's Messengers. I'm excited.

So I have an account on tastebuds.fm, it's a site for networking with people who like the same kind of music as you do. And there are always these random survey questions on the home page. The results of this one made me sad. One in three people who answered that are negative people! How sad!
