Easter Sunday!

I almost didn't wake up on time. I woke up at 8:20 and had to be at my parent's house bye 8:35 so we could leave in time to get to Cassidee's ward. It was her baby's blessing today.

After Sacrament meeting we went to hers and Rich's house for the yummiest food. My friend David is her husband's brother so he was there too.

Then I went home and slept way too long.

But it was a good day. I had a super yummer dinner with my family and hung out with them and got our Easter candy and stuff.

And then Melinda and I went to the school and I practiced for this Friday. I'm super nervous.

It was a lovely day for a picnic. I went with my dad and sister to Smith's to buy food, then we met the rest of the family at the park to eat and play with the kids. It was so fun.

Now I'm at work reading crazy things on the internet. The world is full of dumb and crazy people. A 22-year-old mom tried to sell her two kids on Facebook and was going to use the money to bail her boyfriend out of jail. And two fifth graders planned out a murder of a girl their age. What is happening to humanity?! Just read the crazy stories on msn.com and you will know what I'm talking about.

Oh and here's a tip for the day: "Nothing will change unless you make a daily change."

Allred.

I played in my performance class again, the same songs as last week. I didn't mess up on the parts I messed up on last week but I messed up in different spots. UGH!

I accompanied Celeste in the vocal lab and that was fun because the song she sang has a really easy and beautiful accompaniment.

After that, I met my whole family at Olive Garden to celebrate Desi's graduation from hair school. Yay! No more discounts for me, though. Well, at least not hair school discounts. Oh well.

The cutest thing happened. I went home and then I got a call from my mom's number. I answered and a little voice said "Ashee, I hurt my hand." It was Connor. He proceeded to cry more and more about how he hurt his hand and it was so sweet. I asked him if he wanted me to come give him a hug. "Yes." My dad got on the phone and said he was fine and I didn't really need to come over. But I drove up anyway, and I thought by the time I got there he'd be fine already because that's how kids are. But I got there and he looked all sad still but as soon as he saw me he smiled and ran into my arms and held onto me. Apparently when he hurt his hand he said "I want Ashlee." Awww I just love my little nephew.

I went back home and took a nap and stuff.

Then later I decided to go to the Allred show at Jazzy's cause Chris had told me about it and said I should go. A couple people played before him, guys I'm friends with. McKayle came and sat by me and Chris and we all enjoyed the show from the back corner of the room with my sweet potato fries. Afterwards, I went up to talk to my friends and tell them good job. Then I told John I wanted to buy a CD and ended up buying all three that he had there. I also asked him if I could give him my CD and he said yeah and was super nice. He looked at it and said next time he comes down we'll play together. I'm sure he was just being nice because, well, he hasn't even heard my songs yet haha. I said "You probably shouldn't say that until you listen to my CD" and he said "Oh come on, I'm not that big of a jerk." Ah. So true.

Maybe I should stop going out to eat so much... today McKayle called me while I was practicing piano and invited me to Cafe Rio with her. So we picked up some food then took it to Vernon Worthen park to eat it. So yummy but so bad for me and I'm spending too much money on take out. Halp!

At least I'm starting to go to the gym regularly.. but still.

After school I went and visited with Kirsten and Parker and then I dropped them and Connor off at a park for an Easter egg hunt. How fun huh.

Now I'm at worky work.

Oh and there was a llama on campus today and I don't understand.

I made myself get up at 6:30 today! I had time to curl my hair, picked out a cute outfit, AND get to the school early enough to practice for 30 minutes before my 8:00 a.m. Spanish class. It felt good :) And my piano lesson went really well again this week. I'm excited for the rest of the semester! -Words I never thought I'd say.

Celeste and I went to Camille's for lunch and I got a Thai salad. It was so flippin good.

I hung out at McKayle's house a bit today, picked up Kirsten from a massage, then just chilled at my parent's house before work. Woo.

I was craving a breakfast burrito after Spanish, so I went to Alberto's and got one for me, and one for my dad. I took it to his work and ate with him for a while before going back to school til 2:30.

Then I went to the Hope Chest for the end of the month sale! I got some creepy pictures... I'll have to take pictures of them. I also went to Ulta to use a coupon.

Then I went home to chill a bit before eating dinner with my family.

After that, I took Melinda to the testing center on my way to practice the piano. Carissa came too. Then the three of us went to Jazzy's to hear Wirelefant cause I thought they were playing first. But, they were third, and by 10:15 the second back, The Oranges, was just started to play. None of us wanted to be up late so we left and went home. And I worked on my songwriting!

Today was nothing special. Just the usual. School and work and stuff...

I took some time to notate the piano parts for my songs. Melinda offered to play them while I play guitar at 25 Main :)

While at work, Melinda IMed me and told me about a 22-year-old guy who died. That video about the world's largest rope swing, filmed in Utah, apparently made it so lots of people wanted to try the same thing. So this group of six friends went to try it, miscalculated the length of the rope, and the first guy to jump hit the ground and died. I can't even imagine the horror...

And also I got a call today about a murder. So many crazy sad things.

Palms Sunday.

I was so tempted to just sleep in today and skip the first hour of church since I wasn't feeling well, even though I had agreed to play the piano. But I went and I don't regret it :)

I did my laundry, Spanish homework with Garrett, watched movies, saw my family, ate yummy food.

Melinda and I went to the Palms Sunday fireside. It was pretty good, mostly music.

We went to the ward prayer of my old ward just to say hi cause Ty invited us since it was at his house.

Then we went home and chilled.

Hair did.

My 18-year-old sister Desi is about to graduate from hair school, so she wanted to do something to my hair first. I didn't want to do anything extreme, so I just let her give me some subtle high lights. They're not even on the top layer of my hair. But they're a pretty color! So that was fun.

Then I went and practiced the piano and ate food at Smith's and stuff.

OH and I went to Vintage Music and Pawn and bought my very first amp! It's so I can perform at 25 Main and hopefully more places after that. It's a 40 Watt Crate amp from 1999. Love it even though I'll probably never need something that loud.

After work I went to Luke's house to play music with him. We jammed a bit then watched the movie Up.

I was feeling a little nauseous on my way to his house, but I just ignored it cause it wasn't bad. But during the movie, Luke kept squeezing me. And then I got up to get a drink of water and I suddenly felt very nauseous, so I ran to the bathroom and threw up. I was so embarrassed. Thankfully, Luke was really nice about it and I still had a good time.

I guess you can't really see my high lights.. but do you like my new glasses? Hehe.

On the radio.

I played in my piano performance class for the first time this semester today. I screwed up haha oh well.

Then I went on a spontaneous, short ride on Austin's motorcycle.

Then I picked up Melinda from the library and we went to Red Ginger together for sushi. Mmmmm.

Later in the evening, we went to go hang out with a couple boys from up north, Mike and Pete. They were staying literally around the corner from us, so we walked to the house. We played this fun game called corn hole in their backyard. After that we went inside and just talked for a while before deciding to go to Sonic to get cream slush treats.

We were at Sonic getting to know each other when Melinda said "Ashlee is famous!" and I was all "Yeah, I'm on the radio. I wonder if I'm on it right now..." So I turned on the college radio station, and I wasn't on. BUT my song came on next! It was Crystallize. The guys liked it :)

Then they took us home. It was a perfect fun date with perfect gentlemen and I had a great time.

Then I wanted to make brownies for Melinda and I, so I opened my kitchen cupboard to grab what I thought was my bag of brownie mix. It wasn't. It was croutons!! So dumb. So Melinda and I went to Smith's and while we were walking through the parking lot, some boys who couldn't have been older than 10 or 11 yelled obscenities at us. I was completely appalled. This world..

Well we made our brownies and watched a movie.

Pier 49.

Last night, Ty and Dallas and Nate were over and we all watched Breaking Dawn part two.

Today was one of those days where I went back to sleep instead of going to Spanish class.

I met my parents and Kirsten and Connor and Parker at Pier 49 for lunch in between classes. After choir I practiced piano a bunch. Now I'm here at work.

I can't remember if I posted this recently but I was looking at my way old blog posts or something a while back and I found ths old picture. HAhahahahaha. 

Okay so this was way weird. I was listening to this lady keep talking about how her daughter was going to go through a lot of hard times and I had no idea what she meant. But then this was almost the very end of the call... woah.

You know?

I was super stressed about today. I only started preparing for my Spanish presentation yesterday, and I was struggling to come up with enough material to talk about for 15-20 minutes, in Spanish. I was also worried sick about going to my piano lesson right after, because over spring break I was supposed to finish that hard song, but I didn't practice almost at all.

But, my Spanish teacher must grade easy on stuff like that or something because I got 100% on my presentation. Then, my piano teacher was in a way good mood and we were talking and having a great time, and I played for her, and she was all happy and told me I played so well etc. Man such a better day than I thought it would be!

I went to my parent's house after class to use their internet, and I could hear Parker playing so I snuck down the stairs to see what he was doing. I peaked around the corner and saw him sitting on the floor underneath Connor's little basketball hoop. He was holding the mini basketball above his head, staring at the hoop, and the ball fell out of his hand and rolled away. He crawled after it, picked it up, and did the same thing. It was so flippin cute!

The remodeled Smith's is so amazing. There's a sushi bar, gelato, cheap ice cream cones, granola, all that kind of stuff. Kind of like Harmon's. I'm going to just live there now. I went there today for the iPad drawing but I didn't win :(

One of the most annoying things that happens while I'm captioning at work is when a person says "you know" every sentence.. sometimes twice in one sentence. You don't realize how much people do it until you have to repeat everything they say. Like, seriously? Stop! It's so much worse than "um."

Oh and I'm trying really hard to put pictures up from today but my phone is stupid and now when I email myself pictures, only one comes through. I don't get it. Sorry.

New Harmony.

I woke up feeling so awake. That never happens, it was awesome.

But I was tired in my classes...

I worked on my Spanish presentation before it was time to pick up Celeste and go to New Harmony. Her voice teacher lives there, and she had all her students from both Dixie and SUU meet there for a little get together. Everyone sang and played for each other. One of the non-majors I accompany for is a singer/songwriter too, so she had her guitar and played a song, then let me use it to play a song. Right as I started singing, Beau Stucki walked in haha. Apparently I can really sing, he says.

It was fun though. I love live music in almost any form.

I dropped Celeste off when we got back to St. George, and I was going to practice piano like a good girl, but I got a text from Dallas saying they were going to Denny's. I hadn't seen those guys forever, so I went. Oops.

I went to my parent's to use their internet again to attempt to finish my presentation and I was up too late. But one of my favorite things is coming home late and talkign to Melinda about stuffs! She's da best.

Ugh no one likes the day back to school after Spring Break. How awful! I actually made it to all my classes though, awake and everything.

It was rough practicing the piano after taking a week off but hopefully I don't make a fool of myself at my lesson on Wednesday.

I had lunch at my parent's house today and tried to get started on homework catch up... and now I'm at work.

Melinda and I are giong to the gym after I get off work. This is monumental, everyone.

Also, Rory wrote me back again and I was so excited. He drew this on the letter and my heart melted a little. 

Why? Why do I have so much trouble with phone charger cords? I didn't even do anything to it. Ugh. I don't want to buy another one.

Spring break is over.

I got ready and got my stuff packed, and said goodbye to Kelsey and Tyler. On my way out of town I stopped and visited with Bryan Gibbs, a guy in one of my very first classes at BYU. We've kept in touch and he's been super supportive of me and my music. It was nice to sit and chat.

The drive home was as good as any solo drive gets.

I was happy to see my family. And my roommates. And my bed.

Karsen.

I met Karsen at Kneader's this morning for the all you can eat French toast, the same thing I had tried to do on Thursday with Greg but he had failed me. Luckily, Karsen was on time, and so I got some yummy breakfast! It was really good to see him again. We've been friends since freshman year, and I wrote him a couple times on his mission. He works at the MTC now. He took me to see his apartment and gave me some of his old white shoes that he wants me to draw on. I'm super bummed, I didn't take a picture with him, or Chase, or pretty much anyone except Kelsey and Amanda and Sarah. Oh and Josh and Sean and Chad I guess.. but still.

I went to Chase's to say hi again, and his friend Jackson was there too. I didn't stay long though. I went back to Kelsey's, and Tyler asked me to go with him to Jamal's house to play music, so I did. Although I ended up sleeping on his couch most of the time. I was so sleepy.

We brought Jamal back with us, so he stayed and hung out with Tyler, and then Kelsey was off work. We relaxed for a bit before we went to Emily's wedding reception. Emily is a girl that used to work with Kelsey and Rebecca, so Rebecca was there too and so were a couple other girls that I know.

When we left, we all met at Iggy's for dinner, there were six of us. Kelsey, Amanda, Rebecca, Katelyn, Anna, and I. It was so yummy.

Kelsey was tired so she went home and I chilled with Amanda for a second before we decided to go to Yogurtland. But after that we still couldn't think of anything awesome to do, so she went home and I went back over to Chase's house and watched Arrested Development with him for a while.

Sundance Cabin.

This morning, Sarah and I went to Denny's for breakfast. And soon after, I met Dillon at Carabba's for lunch. So much good food!

After that I went back to Kelsey's house and slept on the couch I think... I don't remember doing anything else until she got off work and I went to pick her up. We went to the University Mall together but didn't find much.

I went over to Amanda's and Rebecca's and they had three guys over: Eric, Connor, and Brad. We were just hanging around having fun when we decided to go to Connor's cabin up in Sundance. So we went there and just hung around there til late and then came home.

Yet another let down.

So my date this morning was 40 minutes late because he fell back asleep. Then we went to Kneaders and it was too late to have breakfast so we tried the Awful Waffle, but for some reason all their doors were locked. They said they were open since 8:15 but I think they lied because we got there at 11:30 and they were not open.

So we went to his apartment and had cereal and watched How I Met Your Mother.

Then I went o na walk somewhere in Provo Canyon with Amanda and Rebecca.

Later I picked up Chase and we went to the movies and then got some food and went back to his apartment where he taught me what I need to know about GarageBand and then we watched another movie, Ferris Bueller's day off.

Then I went to visit Sarah for a minute. I ended up sleeping at her house on her couch because I had gone to Kelsey's and their door was locked :/

But it was fine.

Hello again, Provo.

I didn't bother leaving early because I knew I wouldn't have anything to do in Provo until Kelsey got off work at five. So, I left around 11:30 and got there around 2:45. I first went to Davey's house and said hi to him, but he had to get ready for work so I went to the mall.

While I was there, I ran into Emilee Hanks, Josh Wilson, and Zander, a guy who I used to work with in the music store there. I also ate at Chick-fil-A mmmm.

Well, I still had time to kill so I drove alone to Utah lake just to take a picture and check it out.

I met Kelsey and Tyler at their apartment, and shortly after, Kelsey and I left for Murray to go to the mall there because they have H&M. I'm so glad we went because I got like 5 shirts and some shoes there.

On our way back, we took some balloons and stuff to one of Kelsey's friends for her birthday. I took Kels home and then I went to visit Chad and meet his girlfriend who I'm pretty sure he's going to marry. It was fun cause Sean McClellan was there, a guy from my freshman year at BYU who I hadn't seen since.

Then Amanda, my old roommate, wanted me to come over and stay up with her late and watch movies, so I did. We also went to Rancherito's late at night for old time's sake.

Melinda and I went to my parent's house where we laid out in the sun for the first time this year! I think I got a little pink...

I got locked out of the house twice. First time is because I forgot I had taken my house key off my keyring. Second time is because our door is freaking retarded and won't open even when it's unlocked sometimes.

I met McKayle for lunch at Tiki Island Broiler. Oh man I love that place so much. It was such a beautiful day, too!

And now I'm at work til 11:40... Then I get to go home and pack for Provo. Yay!!

Weird call of the day:
"I don't really approve of that behavior. I know I'm having you raise my daughers, I know you're raising my girls for me. And I shouldn't cmplain. Or I should raise them myself, I understand that. You have custody. But I don't appreciate my daughters being taught to be that selfish and that spiloed and that demanding."

Ahh spring break. Ets da best. I got home after midnight last night from work, and Katlyn was home with Nate. Melinda came home like 5 minutes later and then we all watched Wreck it Ralph together. So I stayed up pretty late. So today I slept in. Thank goodness for the break!

I cleaned my room real good today. I mostly just relaxed though. I did go to my parents and said hi to my family for like two minutes.

But then I met this guy Chad at the school, and then we rode on his motorcycle to the duck pond to eat Jimmy Johns that he had picked up for us. We hiked up the hill and talked a bit. He was nice and cute. I really appreciate the cute short dates where the guy takes the initiative to plan what you're going to do, makes it something simple during the day, and then doesn't make it last for a million hours. So it was nice. Nice things like that don't happen very often.

This is part of one of the interesting calls I got today:

Daylight Savings sucks.

I set a million alarms for this morning so that I could go to my 9 o'clock church. All I remember is Melinda coming in my room to wake me up, and me looking at my phone and seeing it was already 9:07. I fell right back to sleep. I woke back up at almost noon, and Melinda came home soon after. She told me that when she came in my room she thought it was only 8-something. Her phone hadn't automatically gone with the time change, so she showed up to church an hour late. Hahaha.

Well, since we both missed Sacrament meeting, we went to a family ward down the street and took the Sacrament there.

Then I came home and showered and made food and stuff. Now I'm at work.. I picked up a shift from 3:30 til midnight so that someone would work this Thursday for me, so that I can spend more time in Provo :) It's 9:18 now... Less than 3 hours to go. And I'm just drawing on shoes and reading things on the internet.

This looks nothing like me (I don't think) but Melinda looks cute! Haha.

All I did before work today was do my laundry and hang out with my parents.

After work, I went to Jazzy's for more battle of the bands. McKayle came to sit by me, and we got to sit at the best table in the whole place. Pangea was playing, so all those guys were there. Tyson and Thom came and sat by us and just talked. The first band wasn't that great... then We Are Mirrors got up to play. They're really good.

I called Des before Pangea went on and had her come hang out with us. McKayle left shortly after they played but there were still quite a few people there. The band was way good but they lost to We Are Mirrors by half a point. Sad. I bought one of their shirts though! I saw Alec there too. He's such a nice guy. Oh and I got my favorite sweet potato fries of course.

After school today I met my Dad at Costco with my new contacts prescription and got a year's supply of contacts. I love getting my prescription updated.

I went home and cooked some food. Then I went to Nico's house and we jammed for a bit. I did my music theory homework at the school.

I met Eric Reed over at the Summit Athletic Club for a swing dancing class. It was about an hour long and we just learned some basic stuff. It was really fun!

Then I decided to drive past the Macklemore concert just to see what was going on. I could see him on the stage but I couldn't tell how many people were in the crowd. It looked like a lot of people but not 5,000.. oh well. I just happened to be there when he sang Thrift Shop so that was kinda fun.

I went home and hung out with my family for a second, and took Gabby home with Desi. Then I went back home to hang out with Melinda and Katlyn. My friend Spencer called and wanted to come over cause he and Lane had just got done at the Macklemore concert. So they came and chilled with us for a bit.

Then Stephen came over, cause he had found out last minute he was coming from California to help his family move. So I got to see him, yay! I miss him lots since he moved.

Oz the Great and Powerful.

I always say that I think I did bad on my Spanish tests, and then I get it back and my score is just fine. But this time I'm really sure I didn't do too well.

I did pretty well on my sight singing test though! Those aren't so bad. Although it's not fun to sing in front of the teacher by yourself. Especially when you're looking at a line of music and sight singing it.

I had my appointment for my new prescription today. It's so nice to wear my contacts and not my glasses all day.

I got off work and my Melinda texted me asking if I'd go to a movie with her. So, all us roommates plus Nate went to go see Oz the Great and Powerful. Right as we got to the movie theater, Sam Pace called, so I invited him too.

It was a way cute movie.

Busiest day at work.

I skipped Spanish again today. I didn't like that sub yesterday... she scares me.

But I had my lesson at 9 so I didn't sleep in that much. Today was a lot better than last week because I practiced by butt off. I still need to do lots better though.

I was gonna go to Jazzy's after work but work was sooo busy. There were less than 10 seconds between calls at one point, sometimes even less than 2, and I got super long calls almost every time, so I didn't have free time to do any homework. So I had to go do my studying afterward. So annoying. I guess it's my job so I can't complain.

MacBook Pro.

Celeste didn't need me for her lesson today, so I took that empty hour to meet my parents and Kirsten and her kids at Chuck a Rama for lunch. Mmmmm Asian day. Fortune cookies! My first fortune cookie told me that my judgment was a little off today... but after school I went and bought a MacBook Pro anyway, so I hope that's not what it meant. Actually I know it meant something else. Actually it's a fortune cookie and it doesn't know anything.

But yeah so I got my Mac and since the moment I carried it out of the store I've been terrified of dropping it or spilling on it or something like that. I mean really, I'd be so screwed. I just have to be really careful. I mean, lots of people have Macs and don't have accidents... right?

But I met my mom and Kirsten at Urban Renewal just for a second, I didn't buy anything. I went over to their house to set up my new computer with all the programs and stuff I need.

I then went home for a second and got ready to meet this guy named Leif Erickson at Krave. He's a nice guy from Salt Lake, pretty cute.

Sleeepy day. I skipped Spanish today because I knew we would have a substitute. I got to the school just a little before my 11:00 a.m. class and practiced the piano a bit. 

I have a horrible memory. 

After choir I went to the computer store where my old friend Ammon works to talk to him about computers and stuff because I planned on buying a Mac but he tried to talk me out of it. But eventually said that for my purposes, I don't really have a choice but to get a Mac. Problem is, they're expensive and if they break, more expensive. Agh.

I got off work an hour early because they were offering early outs, and I had a headache and I was way hungry. I really don't remember what I did though...
